The Next Level Universe
The Next Level Universe is our own superhero world. Five people in the coastal city of Marrow Bay leveled up at the exact moment they chose someone else over their own safety: a storm chaser, a lifeguard, a firefighter, a nurse and a bike courier.
Every character, name and story here is original and belongs to this brand. The art is made on our own computer with AI tools and shows no real person. Click a hero for the full origin, powers and limits.

The five
Ionara, the Living Current
Layla Haddad chased storms for a living until ball lightning went through her while she reached for a stranger's hand. Now she turns into a streak of light, travels along wires and hears every circuit in the city. Her rule: reach for the hand first.
- Colours
- Ion blue and chrome white
- Weakness
- Runs out of charge
Tidewall
Marisol Reyes was a lifeguard who went under saving two kids and came back able to raise walls and bridges of water and breathe beneath it. Her rule: watch the water, not the crowd.
- Colours
- Sea green and foam white
- Weakness
- Needs open water nearby
Emberline
Kofi Adjei covered a rookie's fire shelter with his own body as a wildfire ran over them. The fire ended up inside him; now he drinks flame and gives it back as light and warmth. His rule: everybody goes home.
- Colours
- Ember orange and charcoal
- Weakness
- Cold; too hot to touch when full
Heartline
Hana Sato kept six patients alive by hand during a hospital blackout. By morning she could hear every heart within a mile and steady or restart one by touch, at the cost of a beat of her own. Her rule: the patient in front of you comes first.
- Colours
- Scarlet and white
- Weakness
- Every restart costs her a beat
Orbital
Jules Okafor shoved a stroller out from under falling steel and the steel fell sideways. Now he bends gravity inside a bubble a few meters wide and flies by falling in the direction he chooses. His rule: there is always a faster line.
- Colours
- Deep violet and silver
- Weakness
- Short range, motion sickness
